Know what time it is by double tapping on your YodelUP device. The 12-segment superbright lights show you the time of the day. The hour is represented by the light that continually stays on, and the minute is represented by the flashing light.

Connect to your GoPro via our app and capture your best runs. Start and stop recording by press of a single button on YodelUP and know whether it’s actually recording via a red status light on YodelUP. For setup, follow the instructions as in GoPro Capture app to connect your GoPro camera via WiFi. Once connected you can use the YodelUP GoPro button to activate your camera.
Never miss a notification from your App (text messages, email, missed call, etc) with YodelUP’s status lights and vibration.
Create a group in our app and select a group leader. Press left button on YodelUP to activate friend tracking. The 12-segment superbright lights show the direction of the group leader like a compass, and as they get closer, more light turn on. The app uses GPS of your smartphone and electronic compass on YodelUP device to triangulate the group’s position and orientation.
YodelUP’s walkie-talkie feature is app based and uses WiFi or cellular data to transmit and receive voice group conversations. Anyone with the app can communicate in a one-to-many fashion (like a traditional radio walkie talkie). Simply create a group and press and hold left button on YodelUP (or by pressing the talk button on their phone in case you are at the pub) to chat with your group. Audio is routed via your headphones (need integrated microphone). Bluetooth-enabled headphones and helmets work too.
The range is virtually UNLIMITED (compared to traditional radio-based walkie-talkies) as long as you have mobile reception (and data plan) or WiFi connection.
If WiFi or mobile connection (data) is disconnected, our app stores all messages on your phone and transmits them as soon as you get your connection back.
YodelUP app uses very little data (3MB/hr for continuous talking), so you won’t need to upgrade your data plan.
Most ski resorts/mountains have mobile coverage for safety reasons, and the coverage is continuously expanding. Backcountry areas (and some out-of-bounds areas) usually have poor cellular reception. Therefore, using YodelUP in the backcountry is not recommended.

Send an SOS signal to your group by holding the left and right side buttons of YodelUP simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. Our app-based SOS will notify members of your group that you’re in trouble and shares your last known location with them. App-based SOS is not meant to be a replacement for beacon/radios or for use in Backcountry (or some out-of-bounds ) areas. Our app-based SOS feature is relies on your phone’s cellular reception therefore, using YodelUP in the backcountry is not recommended.
YodelUP will come with a variety of adaptors so it can be used across a range of other action sports. The snow-sport band adaptor for gloves is included in the package.
Yes, it took us over 70 design iterations and user feedback to get this right.
YodelUP uses Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology to maximize your smartphone’s battery life. Use of friend tracking (GPS) and app-based walkie-talkie (cellular data) may affect your battery life. That being said, with YodelUP you can keep your phone in your pocket and away from the cold, so in practice your phone battery will actually last much longer on the mountain.
